When I have gone out, it's been to Wal-Mart with my parents (I had to get 3 things so I took the 4 kids and let my mom shop), church both Sunday and Wednesday, and then to Great Day Houston yesterday morning. I truly believe God allowed me to be as sick as I was, so that the re-entry would be easier for me. If I had not been sick, I probably would have been somewhere everyday this week and been busier than I could even fathom, but through the NEED to stay home and get well, I have been able to spend huge amounts of time with my family (my dad is off work this week, which has been nice) and time to really contemplate what I did this summer. Due to the busyness the twins bring, even dwelling on the "woe is me, I'm no longer there" hasn't been bad, just sharing the awesome things God did this summer and being able to focus on that. The 2 weeks I was sick in country, I kept asking God why I was sick and not being able to get better, with it being my last week of ministry and debrief, but since I've been home, I see why. Oh man, how I love that He knows better than I do.
So about Great Day Houston yesterday, that is a talk show for the Houston area (kind of like a Good Morning America type thing), and Zach Hendricks (the band Jason plays with) was the musical guest. Courtney Pett, Lindsey Kirkendall, and Sarah Hutton all went and the 4 of us got to watch them perform. It was so awesome. Zach and the band were asked to come back in like 2 months and be interviewed and the whole bit. I'm so proud of Jason and the places God is taking him.
Today was such a good day (so far, it is only 2:30pm) because I woke up and met Rachel at Starbucks, which is something we did weekly before I left for my trip, and we are going to try to get back into that. It is nice to have that time to really just talk about life and build a great relationship. It's something I'm blessed to have in a sister-in-law. I wish Sherry lived closer so she could join too! :) Then today for lunch I got to see Zach McNair!! It was so good! I've missed him so much. It was cool to get a glimpse into his summer and get to share part of mine with him. Jason, Zach, Lindsey and I all met at Chick-fila by the house for lunch then Zach came back to the house. In fact, he just left right before I started this blog. It was just nice to see my best guy friend again. That is something I've missed with being gone, there is no guy outside my family that knows me better than that guy and I've missed that friendship.
Right now I am about to spend some much needed hang out time with Jesus. It is something I enjoyed while in Swazi, was the time to set aside with Christ each day and just talk. Now, it wasn't much but it was specific, almost like a date, and so although I've had my quiet times since I've been home, I've missed the dates with Jesus, so I'm excited to have that. Depending on what He shows me, I might write again! HA! I'm going to try to start sharing more of things God is showing me in my personal time with Him, along with my daily life and writings. This is going to become my outlet, so it will be a place you will see me, beauty and blemish.
So I'm going to go get my date on! Hope you are having an amazing Saturday!!
