At the Cross

Dark was the stain of my sin
Ever more guilty within
Searching for rescue where none could be found
Until from that hill I heard the sound

At the cross At the cross
Where's there room for me
At the cross At the cross
I am finally free
At the cross At the cross
Burdens rolled away
At the cross

Oh what a glorious plan
God reaching down to fallen man
To all of us broken, lost and undone
Here now as heaven bids us come

Mercy triumphs over judgment
Grace abounds much greater than sin
Mercy triumphs over judgment
Grace is greater than my sin

There is something so beautiful about this song and the deep truths within it. Recently God has been working on digging DEEP within me and pinpointing a lot of areas I need work with. I have been praying for God to purify me and man has me. Two passages in Psalms have been my prayer recently. Psalm 139: 23-24: "Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting." Also Psalm 51:10: "Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me." Psalm 51 more so than anything for the last portion of that scripture... "renew a steadfast spirit within me." I so long to be renewed in Christ, to go back the moment almost 8 years ago when the Holy Spirit invaded my every being and permanently change who I was. I want to go back to that moment, that fire, and forget all that has been done to me in 8 years, so right now God is purifying my heart so that at that point he can renew a steadfast spirit. This has not been a fun time; but I hope that through this wrestling and rooting out strongholds in my life, that I come away on the other side with a deeper faith and a more intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. I leave you with my PRAISE THE LORD during this time...

Romans 8: 1-4: "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do, in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in sinful man, in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit."
